I’m going to jail for murder, I thought as I drove down these TimbaValley streets in my own zone. Whoever that nigga was on the phone didn’t know who the fuck he was talking to. I was the wrong nigga to be fucked with. He was going to find out what type of nigga I was when I got through with him. His ass better still be there at TimbaValley Health Department. If he wasn’t, I was going to hunt his ass down. I already owed his ass a beat down, anyway for putting his hands on Starry. He was talking that big boy shit over the phone. I wanted to see if he could back that shit up. I wasn’t about to sit on the phone and listen to his ass. Nah, I wanted him to talk that shit in my face.

He was real brave over the phone, I wanted him to keep that same energy when I was in his face. Best believe I was about to turn shit the fuck out when I saw his ass.

Before I could make it to Starry’s job, my cell phone rang on my lap. I eyed the number, and it was one I didn’t recognize. It could be my father since he always used the inmates phone.

“Yo?”

“Royce?” The sound of her voice gave me a pause, had me wondering what the fuck that nigga did to her.

“Wassup? Where you at? Is that nigga still wit’ you?” I asked angrily.

“No,” she spoke softly. “He left before the police escorted me out.”

I slammed on brakes when she said the police. How the fuck did they got involved?

“Where the fuck are you?” I growled into the phone.

“At the police station,” she sniffed.

“Sit tight. I’m on the way.” I hung up the phone.

It was going to take everything in me not to act the fuck up when I got to the police station. I wondered what the fuck had happened for them to call the police on her.

I dialed another number and waited for Riley to pick up. Hell, her ass didn’t have shit to do, so it shouldn’t take her long to answer the phone. With her not having a job, what could she be doing during the day if Will not home?

“Hello?”

“Man, Starry in some shit. Did you know ‘bout it?”

“Huh? No. What shit is she in?”

I went ahead and told her what was going on. From the way she was gasping and saying side shit when I was talking, she seemed to be surprised by what I was saying. She was getting on my nerves with that side shit, I could barely say what I needed to say. I almost told her ass to shut the hell up and let me talk before she opened her mouth.

“Tell her ass to call me when you pick her up. She hadn’t mention not a damn thing to me, and I don’t like that shit.”

I shook my head. “That doesn’t have shit to do wit’ me.
